Tony Timm has been active member of the Windsor Heights community since 2008. He was elected in 2013 to Windsor Heights City Council. Tony has a strong commitment to ensuring Windsor Heights continues to follow our mission statement by  “providing our residents, businesses and visitors a safe environment and exceptional city services through a team-oriented and fiscally responsible approach, in order to create a unique, sustainable and vibrant community”


Education

Tony graduated from Tipton High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Iowa Wesleyan University.  While at Iowa Wesleyan University, Tony served on the student government council.  Tony has received additional educational leadership training from Army War College, Leadership Iowa and Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.


Memberships

Tony is a currently a  member of the following: Bravo Board of Directors, alternate Board Member for the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, Planning and Zoning Commission Liaison, Central Iowa Workforce Development Board Member.  His past membership roles have included the following: Metro Advisory Council Legislative Committee, Iowa Council on Homelessness Executive Committee, Polk County Housing Continuum Directors Council, Iowa Literacy Council, Des Moines Downtown Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Greater Des Moines Partnership Board Member, Downtown Community Alliance Board Member, Affiliates Presidents Council, Mid-Iowa Planned Giving Council Board Member, Association of Fundraising Professional Board Member and Downtown Corporation Security Council Member.


Priorities

Tony’s top priorities for the City of Windsor Heights are:

  1. Economic Development throughout the City.
  2. Improve our existing infrastructure
  3. Maintaining high quality of life for our residents


Personal Life

Tony and his wife Channon have two children: Charlie and Sophia, and a dog named Liberty. Tony and Channon stay active byattending their children's  sporting events, school events and cheering for the Cubs.
