7/24/20 Road Project Update

69th Street Project

For the week of July 27th, the Contractor will finish installing storm sewer installation on Phase 1. Grading of the roadway is anticipated to begin the week of August 3rd with paving occurring the week of August 10th. It is anticipated that residents can get in their driveways the week of August 10th or the week of August 17th. All work is weather dependent. Please remember to place garbage, recycling and yard waste out at the end of your driveway by 5 PM Thursday for the contractor to pick up. Pickup times are different for each item, so they may not be returned at the same time. The contractor maybe working on Saturdays through out the project to keep the project on schedule.

Allison Avenue Project

For the week of July 27th, the contractor will begin roadway grading. The week of August 3rd street paving operations will begin. Driveway installation is anticipated to begin for the week of August 3rd and August 10th and it’s anticipated that residents may start using their driveways the week of August 10th. All work is weather dependent. Please remember to place garbage, recycling and yard waste out at the end of your driveway by 5 PM Thursday for the contractor to pick up. Pickup times are different for each item, so they may not be returned at the same time. Temporary mailboxes will be used until the street is open to traffic. Another reminder, please remove any items located within the street right-of-way (10-12 feet from back of curb) that you want salvaged.

College Drive Project

For the week of July 27th, the Contractor will be paving the street. Driveway installation is anticipated to begin the week of July 27th and continue into the week of August 3rd. It’s anticipated that residents may start using their driveways the week of August 3rd. All work is weather dependent. Please remember to place garbage, recycling and yard waste out at the end of your driveway by 5 PM Thursday for the contractor to pick up. Pickup times are different for each item, so they may not be returned at the same time. Temporary mailboxes will be used until the street is open to traffic. University Avenue Project

7-24-20-university-update

During the week of July 27th, the Contractor will finish paving operations. West bound traffic will be closed between 70th Street and 73rd Street. That traffic will be detoured down 63rd Street to I-235 to 73rd Street (follow signed detour route). The detour is anticipated to end the week of August 10th. During this time the entrance off University Avenue to Hy-Vee will be closed until the end of the week. Enter Hy-Vee off the 70th Street entrance. All work is weather dependent. All businesses are open. For everyone’s safety, monitor traffic control changes and no texting while driving. Watch for construction workers and added construction truck traffic. Do NOT follow trucks into work zone.

2020 PCC Patching Project

During the week of July 27th, the Contractor will close 70th Street between Hickman Road and Wilshire Boulevard for street patching work. It’s anticipated that the closure will last until August 10th. Please find an alternate route. For everyone’s safety, monitor traffic control changes and no texting while driving. Watch for construction workers and added construction truck traffic. Do NOT follow trucks into work zone.

North Walnut Creek Streambank Restoration Project

The project is complete with restoration and seeding to begin in August or September. The trail is open.
