8/14/20 Road Project Update

2020 road projects

69th Street Project

For the week of August 17th, the Contractor will finish grading the roadway and install rock on Phase 1. Paving is anticipated to occur the week of August 24th. It is anticipated that residents can get in their driveways the week of August 31st. The Contractor will finish installing water main on Phase 3. Water services for Phase 2 and Phase 3 will be installed once those phases begin. Phase 2 will begin once residents on Phase 1 are able to get back in their driveways. Notices will be give once cars need to be removed from driveways. Due to the storm from Monday, progress has been pushed back a couple days. All work is weather dependent. Please remember to place garbage, recycling and yard waste out at the end of your driveway by 5 PM Thursday for the contractor to pick up. Pickup times are different for each item, so they may not be returned at the same time.

If residents have any tree debris from the storm, place those near the edge of the roadway and they will be picked up. Please have all debris set up prior to August 19th.

Phase 2 is anticipated to begin at the beginning of September. The Contractor will put out door hangers letting those affected when cars need to be removed from their driveways approximately one week prior to construction. As a reminder, please remove any items located within the street right-of-way (10-12 feet from back of curb) that you want salvaged.

Allison Avenue Project

For the week of August 17th, the Contractor will finish grading rock and pave the street at the end of the week. The week of August 17th street paving operations will begin. Driveway installation is anticipated to begin for the week of August 24th and it’s anticipated that residents may start using their driveways the end of the week of August 24th . All work is weather dependent. Please remember to place garbage, recycling and yard waste out at the end of your driveway by 5 PM Thursday for the contractor to pick up. Pickup times are different for each item, so they may not be returned at the same time. Temporary mailboxes will be used until the street is open to traffic.

If residents have any tree debris from the storm, place those near the edge of the roadway and they will be picked up. Please have all debris set up prior to August 19th.

College Drive Project

For the week of 17th, the Contractor will finish main line paving west of the bridge and finish side streets and by bridge. East of the bridge will be paved first. Grading for driveways and sidewalk is scheduled for the end of the week of the 17th. Pouring of driveways and sidewalk is anticipated to begin the week of August 24th. It’s anticipated that residents may start using their driveways the week of August 24th. Sidewalk installation will follow driveway installation. All work is weather dependent. Please remember to place garbage, recycling and yard waste out at the end of your driveway by 5 PM Thursday for the contractor to pick up. Pickup times are different for each item, so they may not be returned at the same time.

University Avenue Project

During the week of August 17th, the Contractor will start storm sewer installation. Sidewalk construction and restoration will occur on the north side of the roadway between 70th Street and 73rd Street along with electrical work. Once the storm sewer is installed, they will begin roadway grading. The 70th Street intersection is anticipated to be closed until the end of September. All work is weather dependent. All businesses are open. For everyone’s safety, monitor traffic control changes and no texting while driving. Watch for construction workers and the added construction truck traffic. Do NOT follow trucks into work zone.


2020 PCC Patching Project

The Contractor will be installing traffic signal loops on Saturday, August 15th.
