Stage 1 (66th Street to the middle of Allison): For the week of September 14th, the Contractor will finish backfilling behind the curb and around driveways and seed the following week. All work is weather dependent.

Stage 2 (middle of Allison to 64th Street): For the week of September 14th, the Contractor will begin sanitary sewer repairs and storm sewer installation (this work is anticipated to take 3 weeks). Please remember to place garbage, recycling, and yard waste out at the end of your driveway by 5 PM Thursday for the contractor to pick up. Pickup times are different for each item, so they may not be returned at the same time. Temporary mailboxes will be used until the street is open to traffic.

Some of the work may be delayed due to wet conditions from the last week of rain.

There are public information forums held by Zoom at 2 PM on Friday afternoons for each project as well: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89327380827?pwd=VGI3M1VJRjYzdFRmT3c0VHBURTF6dz09.

City Councilmembers will also be delivering updates to each property affected by the project until construction is completed.

The contracted completion date for the entire project is November 27th. At this time, the contractor is scheduled to hit that target date. The contractor is not contractually obligated to hit each of the target dates for each of the phases. The dates listed above are to serve as references. We will communicate changes in these dates should they arise.

Stage 1: For the week of September 8th, the Contractor will begin restoration work including backfilling and seeding. Residents have access to their driveways.

Stage 2: For the week of September 8th, the Contractor will begin pavement and driveway removals. Once the pavement is removed, they will begin working on storm sewer and water services (anticipated to be the end of the week). It is anticipated pipework will take 3 weeks. All work is weather dependent. As a reminder, please remove any items located within the street right-of-way (10-12 feet from the back of the curb) that you want to be salvaged. Please remember to place garbage, recycling, and yard waste out at the end of your driveway by 5 PM Thursday for the contractor to pick up. Pickup times are different for each item, so they may not be returned at the same time.

Stages 3 and 4: on September 8th, the City Council approved Resolution No 2020-110 which allows the contractor and engineer to set a reasonable stopping date for the project in the fall of 2020. Due to significant delays from utility companies in phase 1 of the project, the project will not be completed in the fall of 2020 as originally planned. The Contractor may not even begin stage 3 this fall, depending on how weather and site conditions are looking as we get closer to finishing stage 2. If they are able to finish stage 3 of the project before the winter sets in, they will do so. The work that is not finished on this project in the fall of 2020 will be finished in the spring and possibly early summer of 2021. More information about the work that will and will not be completed this year will be provided in these newsletters as we get closer to the winter. To see the documentation for Resolution No 2020-110, please check out the City website:  https://www.windsorheights.org/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/_09082020-386
