Dog Park Parking Reminder

dog park

Windsor Heights Dog Park visitors:
As you know, parking directly adjacent to the Windsor Heights Dog Park is limited and residents along Center Street, west of 63rd, have expressed some frustration about parking violations in the neighborhood.  The City of Windsor Heights encourages those visiting the dog park to utilize Colby Park (located in the 6900 block of School Street) as an alternative parking area.  Colby Park is a beautiful facility with ample parking, restroom, and playground facilities, and the paved trail leads under Interstate 235 to the area of the Dog Park.  For those choosing to park along Center Street, west of 63rd, we ask that you extend courtesy to the residents of that area by not parking in a manner that blocks or partially blocks their driveways.  We also ask that you keep your dogs on a leash in the area, and pick up any waste left by your dog.  We are sure you can sympathize with those residents who live along Center Street in not wishing to clean up after dogs going to, and coming from, the dog park.  The City of Windsor Heights appreciates everyone working together to minimize the impact of the dog park on residents along Center Street.
