Spring/Summer 2021

Fall 2021

Work will only occur on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week due to the Holiday.

During the week of November 23rd, the Contractor will be prepping for paving on phase 2B west of the 70th Street intersection.  The south side of the 70th Street intersection will remain closed until all paving in phase 2B has been completed. We expect that the intersection will open back up to through traffic around 12/19, at which time work will mostly stop over the winter months. Work on traffic signals between 70th Street and 73rd Street will take place along with work on street lighting.  Work is weather dependent.  All businesses are open.  For everyone’s safety, monitor traffic control changes, and no texting while driving.  Watch for construction workers and the added construction truck traffic.  Do NOT follow trucks into the work zone.

Spring 2021

Spring 2021

Work will only occur on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week due to the Holiday.

Stage 2 (73rd Street to 75th Street):  For the week of November 23rd, the Contractor will finish installing the remaining sidewalk.  They will also continue backfilling, rough grading, and cleaning up the site.  Final grading may not occur until the spring along with seeding.

Stage 3 (Plaza Circle to 78th Street):  For the week of November 23rd, the Contractor will finish intersections and driveways, and sidewalks.  They will begin backfilling once all concrete work is completed.  Final grading may not occur until the spring along with seeding.

All work is weather dependent.  Please remember to place garbage, recycling, and yard waste out at the end of your driveway by 5 PM Thursday for the Contractor to pick up.  Pickup times are different for each item, so they may not be returned at the same time.  Temporary mailboxes will be used until the street is open to traffic.

Stage 4:  Work will be postponed until the spring of 2021 due to weather conditions.  Notices will be given to the affected residents. The roadway will be opened to through traffic over the winter months. All construction materials, debris, and equipment will be removed from the site before work is wrapped up this fall. There will be a temporary patch poured between the existing pavement on phase 4 and the new pavement on phase 3 so that there is a smooth transition for vehicles between the old and new roadway.

If you experience problems or have any questions or concerns specific to your water, please contact the DMWW Project Manager, Carla Schumacher, at 515-323-6227 (office) or cschumacher@dmww.com.

*phasing is dependent on winter weather conditions. The contractor will not begin stage 4 if forecasted temperatures would not allow paving operations to continue.

Work will only occur on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week due to the Holiday.

Stage 2: For the week of November 23rd, the Contractor will finish grading sidewalk and driveways and then begin forming the sidewalk and driveways.  Driveways will be poured after forms are installed.  All work is weather dependent.  We expect that the project will largely shut down after phase 2 has been completed on or around December 19th.

Stage 4:  For the week of November 23rd, the Contractor will continue water main work and begin the installation of water services.  With water service installation, residents will experience short disruption to water. Temporary driveways will be installed for three properties south of University Avenue. This work is weather dependent.

Stage 3 & 4:  These stages will be postponed until the spring of 2021 due to the weather conditions.  Work will continue on the water main for the next couple of weeks.  Once water main work is completed, the site will be cleaned up and work will be shut down for the year. All residents on 69th Street will be able to park in their driveways over the winter. All construction materials, equipment, and debris will be removed from the site over the winter. Notices will be given to the affected residents.

If you experience problems or have any questions or concerns specific to your water, please contact the DMWW Project Manager, Carla Schumacher, at 515-323-6227 (office) or cschumacher@dmww.com.
