Patrol Division

Duties

The Patrol Division is responsible for uniformed and marked unit response to initial calls for service within the City of Windsor Heights and surrounding jurisdictions based upon mutual aid agreements.

It is a proactive enforcement arm of the department tasked with the delivery services as modeled in the Community Policing Statement.

The Patrol Division also acts to assist the Support Services Division and work in partnership with:

  • Ongoing criminal investigations
  • Crash scene investigations
  • Requests for information and outside referrals
  • Crime prevention and community outreach initiatives

Other duties of the Patrol Division include:

  • In-service training requirements and professional development training
  • Field training
  • Police Reserve Unit program
  • Canine (K-9) Unit
  • Abandoned vehicle auction process
